On Destiny

Believing in destony implies an acknowledment that I am weak, waeponless and passive.

Do I belive in destiny or do we have the power to shape our own future, does the control lie in our own hands or in an invisible force.

I believe that each of us has certain personality traits which we really can't change.
Wether we are talkative or shy or witty or sarcastic or lazy or materialistic or spiritual.
It's all formed so early in life it's almost like we were born that way.

And then there are things which happen to us. Events. Again beyond our control.

Our reactions to these events is what shapes our future. Are these reactions really ours. Our reactions/ decisions are based on our inherent personality traits. Ya those same one we were almost born with. So all the choices we make or don't make our really already decided .

So do I belive in destiny?

sometimes it feels that its not what we are born with but what we make of us that really is the question.....cause most of us have that constant chatter that goes on in our mind 24-7 like a never ending conversation with our ownselves telling us what to do or not to do......the chatter is not even sub-conscious but very conscious infact its going on rit now as well always talking....i think the only time ive noticed the chatter stop and the complete self absoultely free is while having sex....we all are a who we are due to incidents or events that happened to us very early in life making us believe that we were born that way but if we actually ponder we have made ourselves who we are not due to our birth but definately due to incidents that befell upon us.......because if everything we are is due to our birth then the evelution would not be what it is.......but then do we beleive in the x chromosome and y chromosome.....which make a man more feminine and a woman more masculine effecting basic traits like a man not able to find his socks and a female not able to drive........

Destiny does play a role, but my dear lemontree, don't let destiny rule your mind.

Your views on destiny do have some essence to them, but basic personality traits are not "destiny-defining."

More than anything else, it is our "karm" (not karmA) that gives our life its form.

If we consider life as a canvas, then we choose the colors we wish to apply, it's our doings, which decide what the canvas will turn out to be.

hi anonymous
its like we reach out for the grapes on the tree, but to begin with the length of our arm is really not in our hands (pun intended)

and then again once we reach them and pluck em and set out to taste em - what decides wether they turn out sweet ot sour
