Ignorant me

I was telling my colleagues yesterday how I don't know the name of the vice president of our country or any other country for that matter as it just doesn't interest me. One of them quickly rattled of the name in his bid to educate me. But I proceeded to inform them that this was something which just doesn't interest me or catch my imagination. And having known me now for more than a couple of months and my ignorance on a vast variety of subjects they asked me then what did.

While I stumbled my way out of there rather un-intelligently stating that people I know and how their lives evolve did, I knew what I was talking about but decided to word it better.

So what interests me is not the external environment and how that evolves but the internal environment of a person- the human mind- and how that works. How different people react to the same stimuli, what makes up those differences.

The exact words of the song . The music, the obvious and subtle emotions interest me more than the band name and credentials. The painting and what it conveys statically more than artist and his background. Second guessing my best friends thoughts, completing people's sentences, reading my dog's mind as opposed to knowing the vice president's name.
